Competitor Analysis

Project Description : Competitor Analysis Welcome to Enviro Integration Strategies! We are thrilled to present an opportunity for talented students to support the effective positioning of our innovative software product, CI-RiskDB, a risk evaluation and governance platform for geo-infrastructure. Main Goal : The primary objective of this project is to research our market for competitors, both primary and secondary, to understand their revenue models and price-ranges/points, to ensure that we are not under- or over-pricing compared to our competition. We have done some work on this before and have a few starting points, but it requires updates as the existing information per competitor is limited, some have pivoted their offerings, and there are new players on the market now. We have a list of known competitors in the market, and can assist with identifying the types of platforms we would otherwise offer similar/equivalent outcomes to, to help broaden the list of softwares to compare against. Please note, while we are open to various forms of data analyses, AI/GPT tools, and such, some of this research may require calling these organizations directly to obtain information. We want students to feel confident that the project is manageable within a realistic timeframe of 60 hours, spread over 2-8 weeks. As such, we are open to a team approach to performing the research within the designated time.

Geotechnical Failures and Market Analysis in the Mining Sector

This project aims to provide Enviro Integration Strategies Inc. with comprehensive market intelligence regarding geotechnical infrastructure failures in the mining industry over the past 5 to 10 years. The project will focus on identifying and analyzing incidents where mining companies were responsible for infrastructure failures, detailing the material impacts on the companies, the environment, and the affected communities. Additionally, the project will compile a list of major mining companies, categorized by market capitalization, headquarters location, commodities, and the status of their operations, including active, closed, and those under care and maintenance. By synthesizing this information, the project seeks to offer insights into the patterns and consequences of infrastructure failures, as well as the current landscape of major players in the mining industry.

CRM Consolidation and Sales Pipeline Setup

Enviro Integration Strategies Inc. is seeking to streamline its client management processes by consolidating multiple client and contact lists into a single, efficient CRM system. The current setup involves disparate lists and fragmented information currently stored in spreadsheets and text documents, leading to inefficiencies and potential data gaps. The goal of this project is to create a unified CRM database that integrates all existing client information, ensuring data completeness and accuracy. Additionally, the project aims to establish well-defined sales pipeline stages tailored to two distinct revenue streams. This will enable the company to better track sales progress and prioritize efforts for key clients. The project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of data management, CRM systems, and sales processes in a practical setting.

Competitor Landscape Analysis

Project Description : Competitor Landscape Analysis Welcome to Enviro Integration Strategies! We are thrilled to present an opportunity for talented students to support the effective positioning of our innovative software product, CI-RiskDB, a risk evaluation and governance platform for geo-infrastructure. Main Goal : The primary objective of this project is to research our market for competitors, both primary and secondary, to map out where our services overlap or are related, as well as identify key unique features we provide that the others do not. We have done some work on this before and have a good starting point, but it requires updates as the existing information per competitor is limited, some have pivoted their offerings, and there are new players on the market now. We are looking to use this information to clarify our unique value proposition, and the "why pick us!" out of the landscape of offerings in our space, but also show our potential investors that we have done our homework to know what else is out there, who we are competing against, and who we may be able to collaborate with, via integrations between platforms. We want students to not only understand the significance of their contributions but also feel confident that the project is manageable within a realistic timeframe of 60 hours, spread over 2-8 weeks. As such, we are open to a team approach to performing the research within the designated time.

Data Management Web-App Design & Implementation

Our team has created a risk evaluation process that involves an assessment of infrastructure against a list of 45 criteria - criteria are grouped into 6 categories and there is a choice of 5 performance levels (each described individually) to choose from. Individual scores are assigned to each performance level, and scores of criterion are tallied to indicate an overall "performance score". Final scores are used to determine risk potential through pre-established relationships between the scores and failure potential. The pilot tool is currently built into several linked excel spreadsheets with all of the necessary calculations and relational formula pre-created, and we have a full dataset that can be used for testing. There are 4 general types of infrastructure that can be assessed against its relevant set of criteria, but all follow the same process flow for evaluation. For ease of updates to evaluations on a regular basis, we would like to create a secure web-based tool. The tool would essentially equate to a relational database management app with an input user interface and an output reporting interface. End-users would need to be able to run through the evaluation process for any infrastructure, including the capture of relevant documentation for the ratings given, and then be able to view and/or export the results of the evaluation on relevant graphs and tables, including an ability to compare to other infrastructure within their database. Users should know their specific company data is secure and only accessible to approved individuals with appropriate login credentials, and changes to evaluation data (by any end-user with access) must be tracked over time. In addition, we as the owner, should be able to update criteria and relationships, as may be deemed necessary, where users would be notified of any such app updates. A full list of data types & necessary report-out organizations (selected data export to csv or excel, visual dashboard for individual infrastructure and consolidated results for comparison, and pdf reports including predesigned graphs), potential capabilities and requirements for the application can be provided in more detail. We are flexible and prefer to establish an agile approach in the event that the desired outcomes are more than can be accomplished within one semester or project phase, so long as the work plan and resulting code can be easily transitioned from one team to another as necessary. We would like students to focus on: Analysis and recommendations for the most appropriate platform / code. Creation of a minimum viable product that can be used internally to support clientele, for testing and validation of a potential future web-based service. A few phases of the project we would like to be engaged with: Selection of the platform / code. Establishment of process flow for evaluation inputs and outputs. The product roadmap to create the system and implementation plan. The proposed wireframe or mock-up of the system’s user interfaces. Team expected (minimum skills on the team): Project manager Front-end developer Back-end developer(s) Deliverables expected: The web-based application, and any associated licensing and IP. The uncompiled source code for the system. Full system appreciation documentation of the application (including basic instructions) for future coders, and user manuals for the owner and end-user. A final presentation explaining what you built, what works well, and what you would change.

Establish Accounting & Financial Documents

I am a sole proprietor preparing to incorporate my business and potentially expand into new service models. With relatively few transactions on a monthly basis, I have easily tracked income and expenses over the past 2 years for purposes of claiming taxes but would like to create appropriate and auditable financials. I would like to have my tracked information converted into proper bookkeeping records and annual financial statements to utilize for incorporation and to develop a financial business plan for future endeavours. I currently track information in Freshbooks and an excel spreadsheet. I would prefer to explore relevant online applications that are more suitable for my small business and can manage everything (including invoicing, bookkeeping, and creation of financial statements, if possible) in one place and at a reasonable monthly or annual cost. I would also like to hear any recommendations for future tax-saving measures under the framework of an incorporated business, i.e. holding revenues vs. dividends vs. salaries, claimable expenses - what should I implement or do differently to minimize tax payments? Deliverables expected: Evaluation & recommendation of online accounting applications Bookkeeping files created from historic records (past 2 years) Financial statements (past 2 years) Instructions for ongoing update and maintenance of bookkeeping files Recommendations for tax-saving measures as an incorporated business
