While each class cohort is different, you can expect students to bring cross-functional skills in strategy, marketing, finance, data analytics and innovation to help you define a problem, explore solutions, and deliver actionable recommendations. Each team manages their own project workflow: conducting research, engaging with stakeholders, and holding virtual check-ins throughout the semester, managing the project timeline, and delivering results. At the end of the project, you’ll receive clear deliverables, data-informed insights, and practical recommendations tailored to your goals. From evaluating growth strategies to streamlining internal operations, these students are ready to dig in and offer fresh, research-backed perspectives, all while gaining real-world consulting experience under faculty guidance. Providence College is pleased to offer an innovative experiential learning opportunity through our Human Resource Management course. Our undergraduate students are equipped with a foundational understanding of HR concepts, including job analysis, recruitment, selection, employee management, and compensation. This course is designed to foster theoretical knowledge and provide practical skills applicable to any professional role, and at its core, to walk students through the employee life cycle from attraction to separation. Students in this course participate in hands-on activities, including a competitive team-based HR simulation and your Riipen project. They are proficient in HR management issues and principles and have developed strong teamwork, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities. For the project, we would prefer a company that operates on the East Coast so students can be in the same time zone as the project managers.
