McMaster Continuing Education Level UP: Fall 2025
Skilled, motivated students from McMaster Continuing Education ready to support your business. Level UP connects you with post-secondary students from across Canada who are eager to apply what they’re learning in the classroom to real-world challenges. These students are motivated, curious, and looking to grow. They bring fresh perspectives and emerging skills to your project. We’re currently looking for projects in the following categories: Marketing, digital marketing, business administration, human resources management, data analytics, accounting, and website development. Students work on 60-hour, short-term projects and are paid a $1,400 stipend directly by Riipen, thanks in part to the Government of Canada’s Innovative Work-Integrated Learning (I-WIL) Initiatives program. This means there’s no cost to you. Level UP makes it easy to tackle meaningful tasks, test ideas, or explore new opportunities with the support of engaged, early-career talent—while helping the next generation of professionals grow. Project timeline: Request to match your project: September 2 - October 3, 2025 Program administrators will review all requests and let you know if changes are needed to set the project up for success. Students invited to join: October 6, 2025 Students apply to projects: October 6 - 17, 2025 Student will apply to projects. You must review applications and accept your team(s) during this period. Data Management - Fall 2025
DAT 202
This course is part of the Data Analytics certificate program. Students in the program are adult learners with a post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science, engineering, business, etc. This course explores the importance of managing data as an enterprise asset and the processes and components required in terms of the acquisition, storage, sharing, validation and accessibility of data for addressing business problems. An examination of Database Management Systems, database architectures (structured and non-structured) the differences between OLTP (Online transaction processing) OLAP (online analytical processing) as well as the administrative processes (Data Governance) that guide the data lifecycle will be a focus.

Data Analytics and Modelling - Fall 25
DAT 201
This course is part of the Data Analytics certificate program. Students in the program are adult learners with a post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science, engineering, business, etc. This course offers an introduction to data science and machine learning paving the way for students to learn data analytics principles. In particular, this course begins with a brief history of data analytics and data science, followed by regression analysis, regression and classification trees, and ends with introductions to K-means clustering, principal component analysis (PCA). Each lecture has associated with it a practical lab session in which students will put "theory into practice" offering students a hands-on approach to learning the material.
