Quantifying GHG Emission Reductions from AI-Driven Wildfire Detection
The goal of this project is to develop a scientifically robust framework for quantifying the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions enabled by Bayes Studio’s AI-driven wildfire detection and monitoring technology. By leveraging satellite data, remote sensing techniques, and wildfire emission models, the project aims to accurately estimate the carbon emissions avoided through early wildfire intervention. This research will support grant compliance, provide data-driven evidence of environmental impact, and contribute to broader climate change mitigation efforts by informing policy decisions, carbon credit opportunities, and sustainable wildfire management strategies.

Canadian Forestry Industry Landscape Analysis
The goal of this project is to conduct a comprehensive market research study focused on the forestry industry in Canada. The project aims to map out relevant forestry companies and provide an in-depth analysis of the current industry landscape. This will involve identifying key players, understanding market trends, and evaluating the competitive environment. The project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of market research methodologies, data analysis, and industry evaluation techniques. By engaging in this project, learners will gain valuable insights into the Canadian forestry sector, enhancing their understanding of industry dynamics and strategic positioning. The project is designed to be completed by a team of learners from a business or marketing program, leveraging their skills in research and analysis.
Work experience
Aquarium Educator Volunteer
Vancouver Aquarium
May 2023 - Current
• Educate visitors about threats to marine animals, such as overfishing, plastic pollution, entanglements, and climate change.
• Help connect visitors to the park by raising awareness of special park features, the park community and the area's natural history.
Fire Assay Instrumentation Technician
BUREAU VERITAS COMMODITIES CANADA
March 2018 - August 2019
• Performed Quality Control and produced reports according to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Standard Operation procedures (SOPs), which reduces laboratory risks and eliminates uncertainty about how to best complete assignments.
• Calculated and reviewed data validation, following mining client specifications to determine the percent of silver and Copper.
• Coordinated with management and co-workers to implement new procedures in the laboratory, improving laboratory techniques to complete tests on time.
• Analyze samples using atomic absorption instruments to obtain silver and copper ores.
Laboratory practicum
VANCOUVER – GEOCHEMISTRY (ANALYTICAL LABORATORY)
March 2018 - January 2019
• Performed testing on digestion of percent of Sulphur and Copper following strict laboratory procedures.
• Analyzed percentages of Copper and Sulphur in LECO MACHINE (infrared method)
• Performed testing on the digestion of samples using the IC method to determine fluoride and chloride.
• Performed testing on potentiometric titration with ferrocyanide solution to determine Zinc ion ores.

BAYES STUDIO COMPANY/ LEVEL UP
February 2025 - March 2025
• Conduct a comprehensive review of existing GHG accounting frameworks for wildfire emissions (e.g., IPCC, GFED, BlueSky, EDGAR).
• Identify and assess carbon accounting methodologies suitable for estimating avoided emissions from early wildfire detection.
• Design a tailored quantification approach aligned with Bayes Studio’s AI-based wildfire detection and monitoring system.
• Apply statistical models and simulation tools to calculate carbon emissions prevented through early intervention.
• Validate results against wildfire carbon inventories and peer-reviewed scientific literature.
• Develop a projection model to estimate potential emission savings across fire-prone regions
Concentration of Metals Found in Sediments of North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and the City of Vancouver’s Creeks
January 2024 - December 2026
I will research the level of heavy metal in the sediment found in the creeks in Vancouver, West Vancouver, and North Vancouver. Numerous creeks surround these cities, have a long history, and are home to a diverse population and mountains
