Denver Regional Council of Governments Building Decarbonization

Category: Building Decarbonization | Research | Program Development | Decision-Making Support The Building Decarbonization Coalition is working with the Denver Regional Council of Governments to implement part of the Decarbonization Program . The demand for qualified contractors to install cold-climate heat pump technology is rising nationwide. Increased incentives from Federal, State, and Local Governments, Utilities, and the Private Sector have encouraged end-users to invest in heat pump technology. Consequently, the HVAC industry has experienced an influx of services, resources, incentives and programs dedicated to guiding contractors and consumers through the growing landscape of resources. However, this expansion has also led to an overload of administrative requirements and disjointed resources, creating barriers to efficient adoption. To address these challenges, BDC and DRCOG will be creating an online Contractor Navigation Hub (CNH). The CNH aims to be a streamlined, "One-Stop-Shop" resource for HVAC and Home Efficiency Contractors to simplify the adoption of cold climate heat pump technology in their services. Learners will organize and analyze key training and licensing requirements and decarbonization rebate/incentives opportunities and to support the development of the Contractor Navigation Hub.
