Details

Our company, WeSpare, is in the process of developing our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) prototype—a secure digital platform that provides access to interest-free funds and an effective savings mechanism immigrants and underserved communities.

We are just beginning to reach out to potential users and community leaders, and we are seeking students who are passionate about supporting impactful fintech startups. This project will focus on creating a streamlined outreach process tailored to our unique audience.

This will involve several steps for the students, including:

  • Identifying target groups: Research immigrant associations, community groups, and potential partners aligned with our mission.
  • Crafting our message: Build a messaging framework that resonates with our target audience, emphasizing our value proposition in an engaging and culturally relevant way.
  • Developing outreach tools: Create a step-by-step guide for approaching prospects, including outreach templates.
  • Analyzing data for market insights: Compile market data to refine our understanding of potential user pain points and preferences.

Bonus steps in the process could include:

  • Developing a customizable demo pitch for our MVP to showcase during outreach.
  • Building a script for introductory calls or presentations to prospective users and partners.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  1. Identifying key contacts (e.g., leaders of immigrant associations, early adopters, or influencers within our niche communities).
  2. Compiling relevant market insights about our audience's needs and challenges.
  3. Drafting outreach templates for email, social media, and other communication channels.
  4. Creating a framework to track outreach performance and recommend metrics for measuring success.

Bonus deliverables:

  • Customizable presentation materials for potential users and partners.
  • A script for the sales or outreach team to use during initial engagements.

Final Deliverables: The final project deliverable is a report including research, analysis, and recommendations. It should equip our team with actionable strategies for building early connections with our target audience and generating interest in WeSpare's platform.

  • We hope this collaboration will not only help us fine-tune our outreach strategy but also provide students with valuable experience working with a fintech startup addressing meaningful social challenges.

WeSpare offers a secure online platform that provides access to interest-free capital by creating a community-based savings and cash advance system (ROSCA) where members of the same group save to take turns receiving the pooled funds to individuals and communities who are underserved by the dominant (or traditional) financial institutions.

Each member of a Rotating Savings and Credit Association (ROSCA) saves every week, 2 weeks or month a predetermined amount and a different member receives the total funds without any interest to meet financial needs.
