WHO WE ARE

ComfortlyTravel is a search engine website that helps people travel in a personalized way. We all know where to get flights and hotels, but what about amenities that can make your trip tailored to you? We provide travelers the ability to search for vetted businesses that provide services catered to the kind of traveler they are, and the amenities specific to them. Examples: travel insurance, childcare, coworking passes, airport lounge access apps, restaurant reservation companies, apps for taxis and takeout (all local to where our travelers are).

THE TASK

We have started building a website but need help to make sense of it and to complete it from where our tech contractors left off. There is a mix of different plugins and software being used on WordPress that need to be tamed into a final product. We are looking for someone who can help bring the front-end design and back-end functionality together so that we can launch this October.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Researching different site-building tools and their associated advantages/disadvantages.
  • Conducting a needs analysis to determine which software and plugin is most suitable.
  • Editing the current website, with our assistance in providing the content.
  • Providing training on updating and maintaining the website.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students will have experience:

  • Building a search engine website on WordPress
  • Assisting in the front-end design and back-end functionality of the website
  • Going through a Beta Test for the website and editing their work based on direct customer feedback

Bonus steps would include:

  • Setting up additional website systems to assist in company growth such as analytics and security

Final deliverables should include:

  • A website prototype
  • A final report on the tools, processes, and designs they created during the internship

Company deliverables to the company include:

  • A written letter of recommendation by the company
  • A certification of completion
  • The ability to create a company deck based on their work that they can use for their future portfolio
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our current products and website design
  • Our customer and industry insights
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
