Details

With the extreme challenges faced in the last few years, the goal is to diversify our revenue streams. We would like to achieve this be reaching an expanded audience to share knowledge and importance of honeybees along with providing visibility to the companies and individuals who sign up for sponsorship.

Deliverables

We are farmers and not very skilled with marketing, so following is what we assume we would need:

  1. Develop a Hive Sponsorship program
  2. Develop marketing materials for attracting sponsorship
  3. Assist in connecting our Square online store with Instagram/Facebook/etc.
  4. Review of existing Social Media presence and provide recommendations for a strategy for developing content for the program
Mentorship
  • Support students in writing content specific to Honeybees and their role in Agriculture.
  • Certainly time to work with the student(s) on the development of the program and to answer questions as needed
  • We have social media accounts and can provide access so long as there is an agreed privacy and confidentiality

Agriculture, Travel & tourism

We are a small family run honey farm in Kelowna, BC. As a Mother and Daughter team, we operate the business and manage the bees with the support of our families and excellent staff. We partner with local Orchards and Vineyards who host our honey bees year round. Our Bee Hosts have the benefits of the bees without additional (expensive) costs for pollination. We have the benefit of not having to move the bees around, which can be hard on them.

We are an AgriTourism business and sell honey and wax products at our farm gate store, which is needed to sustain our business and care for the bees. We created a 'Bee-Educated' area to offer tours where people can come to learn about honeybees, their importance to agriculture, and the benefits of honey and other products from the hive.

We also run a volunteer program which provides aspiring beekeepers the opportunity to have hands on experience.
