We are Planet Startup, an all-volunteer, 501(c) 3 public with the mission of training young men and women in marginalized communities in North America and around the world to set up and manage their businesses and then connect them with investors and partners to help them succeed. We believe talent and initiative are evenly distributed over the planet; however, opportunity is not . . . and we are fixing that.

We have been so busy doing our work and spending our donations to help our served communities, that we have little time or budget to get the word out in terms of press releases, guest appearances on radio and TV shows, as well as blog interviews. We want to be able to tell our story, and we have much media and other content to do that - - - some very interesting stories too. Please review the media we uploaded as well as the links so you have a better idea of what we do. We have another project to redesign our website and link to Facebook, LinkedIn, and others - so this is also a work in progress.

What we need here is not only a strategy, plan, lists of who to call, along with a what to do and how to do it recipe book, we would like to have some a group actually set up and distribute press releases, get us invited to tell our story on tv and radio, and anything else that might help - - - we are really novices in this area.

Tasks are:

  • Develop a working project plan, tasks, and schedule with weekly reporting as to achievements and what is planned next week. This is for planning to give everyone an idea of what needs to be done and what is being done. Things always change, and we expect that in any creative process, so the plan should be flexible enough to incorporate radical change as needed. Below you see a list of things we think need to be done; however, if you feel additional items are needed, then add them to the plan.
  • Review the media we uploaded as well as that describing who we are and what we do so you can get a better idea of how we work and some of our accomplishments. You will need to understand us to be able to better tell our story. Some of our material are in both French as well as English.
  • Develop a publicity / Public relations action plan at both a strategic (high level), and tactical (weekly work plan as to what to do, who to call, how to do it, and so on) so we can maintain our public image. This is the cookbook set of instructions or operations manual with how-to instructions at a very basic level. We have a very limited budget, and our desire is to allocate our donations to the communities we service. Yet, small investments in publicity might increase our exposure, and that might increase donations to make the expense worthwhile.
  • Use the plan to actually write and send out press releases, set up radio, blogger, and TV interviews to demonstrate proof of concept. That would serve to introduce us to the world of publicity - - - sort of priming the pump.
  • Create a YouTube Channel for our videos
  • The team will have full access to me, Dr. Jerald L Feinstein, the founder in weekly meetings, as well as phone calls when needed or Zoom /Skype sessions . In addition, as needed, members may work with some of our board members and advisors in firms such as Microsoft, Oracle, VirtualDeveloper, and others in China, Africa, or the US with opportunities for video sessions or international travel associated with your programs. This is a great way to showcase your talents and gain incredible experience in the areas of technology, social entrepreneurship as well as servant leadership. By the way, you will note the video of the ceremony thanking Planet Startup for our work. That was put on by the local king who we met, and I was the one who captured the video. One can learn a great deal about politics, and how things actually get done. This is also an opportunity to continue your involvement with Planet Startup after your project depending on your interests and future plans.
  • Provide training on the process
